EO Craze

Why do so many people have MAJOR health breakthroughs with these “crazy, MLM” essential oils? Yeah, I used to be one of those who coined them crazy, MLM oils. Until I experienced them first hand. So, I challenge you to learn about this oil craze. To smell them. To experience them.

When fragrance is inhaled, the odor molecules travel up the nose where they are trapped by the olfactory membranes in the nose. When stimulated by odor molecules, this triggers electrical impulses to the olfactory bulb in the brain. Because the limbic system is directly connected to hose parts of the brain that controls heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, memory, stress responses, decision-making, and hormone balances, essential oils may promote a profound physiological and psychological effect on you. The sense of smell is the only one of the five sense directly linked to the limbic lobe of the brain, which serves as the emotional control center.  Fear, anger, joy, and other emotions all emerge from this region. All other senses are routed through the thalamus lobe, the sensory input hub.

One of the most powerful healing aspects of essential oils is their ability to penetrate the “Blood-Brain Barrier.” The amygdala serves as the central headquarters of the limbic system, which manages your storage and filing system. That part of the brain does not understand words and cannot be communicated to with spoken or written language. It responds externally only to smell.  Hence, essential oils provide a powerful means to contact that non-verbal portion of our brain that store our feelings and emotions.

Whereas the center of the brain is the coordinator of emotional memories, the memories are not actually stored there. That part of the brain performs the functions of a librarian who catalogs all the emotional memory books and assigns a location on the shelves of your bodily temple to hold that information for future reference. When we have an emotional experience, the amygdala assigns a part of your body to remember that experience until you are ready to deal with it.  The body is composed of some 100 trillion cells each with a strand of DNA capable of storing up to six gigabytes of memory, making the body larger than all the computers of the world. Consider these cells as 100 trillion employees whose job it is to run the corporation of your body smoothly and in good health. Most of the time they do a pretty good job. Any employer or manager who has had to direct the activities of even a small number of employees knows what a challenge it is to keep things running smoothly on a daily basis. Yes, our beautifully organized bodies do that with little or no conscious effort on our parts. That is because a single Higher Power serves at the head on the corporation and has imbued every cell with intelligence – 6 gigabytes worth for every cell – all 100 trillion of them.

The emotional brain can delegate any place in your body to store a feeling or an emotional memory. You will never run out of memory storage space. You and every other human being has this amazing capability. Treat that vessel with great care. When it becomes impaired, repair it with great care. Understanding how your body and brain communicate is a key piece of education for you to take health into your own hands.
